Does anyone know where I can get a replacement bolt (jewel cut) for a Savage 99g?

Why do you need a replacement, and if you put a new in it will have to be fitted and the head space checked all which should be done by a competent gunsmith, who can also jewel it at the same time. steve

Sure it's a 99G? 99G bolts weren't jeweled. They never started doing that till 1955.

Its a Savage Model 99 with a detachable clip - made after 1955. I can't tell if the stamping is a 99g or 99c. The reason I am looking for a new bolt is that I purchased the gun and someone damaged the bolt face. I have a gunmaker who has inspected the gun and suggested that I locate a new bolt and he'll install it. I believe that this was one of the last models made before Savage discontinued producing them.

It's a 99C. The G never had a damascened bolt but the C did. I've got a few bolts here but none that are jeweled, just the oldies. Numrichs might have them. A partial serial number and I can date your rifle for you. |
