Hello TXplt Ah, The New model 49 with NO Lock.. I carry a Pre-30 in .32 S&W Long. This gun was Blued and Heavily Pitted {See Before & After Pictures Below} but Locked up very tight. I sent it to my Friends at Ford's Refinishing in Florida and they applied their High Polished Hard Chrome finish to it. This finish will show Zero wear and has been carried daily since Halloween last Fall and still Looks as nice as in this Picture.I have to send it back in the spring to them, as I change weapons in the summer and somehow they forgot to place the Barrel pin back in place after the finish was applied. It does not hinder use of it, but I would Like it back in place. Regards, Hammerdown "Before" ![]() ![]() "After" ![]() Last edited by Hammer Down; 03-11-2008 at 08:44 AM. |

Hello evilblackrifle I had an Older model 49 no Dash series Before the Pre-30 shown. It being a Carbon steel model was a Tad Bit Heavy. I liked the Pre-30 a Little more and it is a whole lot more accurate than my model 49 shown was. Regards, Hammerdown ![]() | |

I like all of the hammerless Smith's, the 640 is my favorite.
