Aus foxes thanks to primos raspy coaxer

Took three tonight and two a couple of weekends ago.

Had one come in a couple of hundred metres to within 30 odd metres, but my bloody phone went off and it bolted. Tonight no button whistle was loud enough into the wind, but this primos raspy coaxer stopped three foxes in their tracks. Each including the pic above copped a 55gr vmax from my 22-250. I even missed the first one and barked through the whistle at it. It stopped, turned and sat while I got to adjust for the wind and shooting downhill. BOOM.... echo echo echo WHACK. Yep i better go find him tomorrow and take a pic....

Love shooting foxes.

Brad, I have to figure out a way to get some different calls sent to ya. There are alot here i think you should try.

I shoot maybe 25 a year here but dont get a shot off at 100

I assume the Brits imported the red fox to Aussieland? Or is that another species?

Nope your right mate,the brits and aussies have brought a lot of pests over here in the 200 plus years on this land.But im glad they did.If there were no feral noxious pests to shoot it would be a very boring place to live.

Foxes and wild dogs over here are very bad in places.Ill post a pic of a roo i shot(under permit) and left to see what sort of animals were about.This is on a big property i shoot on up in northern NSW.This roos was shot in the afternoon.The pic is taken the next morning.The roos was moved over 25m and totally stripped.I shot a bakers dozen of foxes the next night.didnt see any wild dogs though.

We took another stack over the weekend, this time the primos ki-yi was the best when used as a jackrabbit type caller. Now i need to place another order

Haha well my mate notts might have taken a couple. Anyway there were more pigs, i got most of the foxes coz those slackers are too slow on the trigger and I pulled off an arsy 350m plus shot on a fox and the 50gr accutip dropped him like a sack of.... you know what. Mates 6mmPPC was nice, didnt shoot well though but hes got to play with his loads before it will get better i reckon. He took one fox and the only cat, I ended up with 1 fox shot through the jugular and i think it drowned in its own body juices. The hummer worked really good for that and on 4 bunnys too. The 22 took a heap of pesty birds that were eating olives off the trees, and the 22-250 took the other four foxes. Oh and my cheap arse marlin 22 outshot my mates Anshutz and CZ 22's. That was very funny considering the price tags of each gun. The ki-yi worked best for sure as it was very still and the foxes wouldnt come to a regular rabbit call, more of a bark to stop them running. Dark moon also didnt help i reckon.

My camo has arrived now and i have my raspy coaxer plus two tweetys so unless the weather packs it in, I should go call up a fox this weekend. And I have a few crow decoys in my back room that are begging for some action too
