I have the nut comp.,but read the reviews on the hornady comp.,and believe it is simpler to use and should be just as accurate.I would go for it as there is no other way to check ogive except blackening bullets which isnt the most accurate. sam.

If you guys don't mind, explain this bullet comparator to me. I think I know what it's about, but not sure. Thanks.

ok..now is the ogive the part of the bullet that will touch the lands first? I'm just trying to figure why you need to measure from the ogive. | |

I believe the RCBS Precision Mic (a 2 in 1 tool) which I use for my 30-06, 25-05 and 223 does the same thing. You also get a headspace reading on the brass before and after firing. And I didn't know what the heck a "comparator" was either. MidwayUSA - RCBS Precision Mic 243 Winchester

Samuel you got that right about the tools ! I've got tools I'll prolly never use, but I've got them just in case I do need them. Does that make sense ? LOL...A.H |

deprAved! I have precision mics for 6.5x55Swede, and 7mm Rem Mag. They work excellently. The comparator is sweet as well, and now I have an excuse to get one! "But BILLY said I gotta get one Dear"! LOL
