| 308 surplus I was out shooting today with some Indian ammo I procured from cheaper than dirt. I was a tad apprehensive due to the outer appearance. But as the saying goes don't judge a book by its cover. In this case don't judge a cartridge by it's tarnish. This stuff was A OK. Now I am no marksman but with my 4x12 centerpoint on my buddies Saiga 308 I was shooting snuff can lids and clay pidgeons at various yards (50 up to 200-ish or so) without a flaw. I read a lot about ammo and I have to say I would give this about a 3.5 out of 5. Later I was relieved after reading a post on CTD from an individual explaining that the ammo (military ammo in general including this stuff) is treated with a coating to protect the ammo from adverse conditions (you know weather and stuff) and that it will not harm the weapon no matter what it looks like. I can't wait until I am able to get my stock and PG for my Saiga so I can finally enjoy it after a 3 yr hiatus from shooting it. Anyway that is my 2 cents on that subject. Have a schpadoinkal day everybody. Last edited by wigmaster0; 03-08-2008 at 11:58 PM. |
