Winchester Trapper 30-30, finally got one

I bought a 30-30 Trapper AE over the net and it finally got here. I believe it was made in the mid to late 1980's with this serial #5375XXX. It has a Leupold 4X scope and is in excellent condition. I may have paid a bit more than intended but she sure is purty. This will be my primary deer rifle with Hornady Leverevolution ammo. I recently cleaned up and restored a pre 64 "94", next project will be to do the same with a post 64 "94", I'm sure theres some around that need help. I attached a pic of the trapper hope it works.

Sweet. I'm been thinking hard about a trapper for awhile. I can't make up my mind about the caliber. It would be hard to beat the 30-30. Range report would be appreciated.

Mighty fine little rifle there!

My brother got me one with the 20" barrel. Consider getting that scope off there and putting on a Williams aperture sight. It's the way it ought to be. More compact and easier to aim. What more could you want?

I really like the Winchesters. The reason for the 4X scope here in Pa is making sure Bucks have enough points on their antlers. Some areas require 4 points on a side and others require 3 points, it's all part of Pa's trophy Buck program. I agree the Williams peep sight is an improvement but when your eyes get into the senior catagory magnafication is a must for most of us. Thanks, your reply is appreciated.
