Jon,

Have you removed the plug from the magazine tube? It is a wooden dowel that limits the magazine to two rounds + one in the chamber=three rounds total; per various state and federal regs limiting ammo capacity... Without the plug, I can keep six rounds in my Moss'y 500: five in the mag. + one in the chamber.

If you have not removed the plug then remove the barrel, point the magazine straight down and give it a gentle jiggle (my plug falls right out about then...). If the plug is reticent and won't cooperate, then remove the magazine; the plug will be inside the follower spring.

I don't know of any add-ons or modifications for more capacity but others might.
