I've got one, and I love the little bugger! Since the FR8 was built from the Spanish M43 Mauser, the action parts will interchange. Also, the action parts of the Kar98k will interchange. For sights and the under barrel tube, you must check the gun auctions and parts houses. Also check on Gunboards.com - they have a good CETME/FR8 forum, and someone there may have what you need. CETME parts will NOT work. Different barrels and sights entirely. Question - does any of your FR8s have a bent bolt handle? Mine does, and it seems a rare situation. Most have straight bolt handles.

Big Dog, sure that isn't an FR7 you have there with the curved bolt handle? Made from a M93/1916? By any chance does your "FR8" with the curved bolt have a squared off bottom of the bolt, evidence of the M93/1916s. The FR8s were remanufactured from 1943 Mausers rifles. I see you are a Moderator of several departments and respect your position and your knowledge. Does your serial numbers match from the bolt and action? Very curious! |

I had one....paid $150 for it...sold it for $375 6 months later....kind of an odd duck...didn't like the weird sights or the recoil....cool looking gun though.

Marrjob - it is indeed the FR8. Some were fitted with the bent bolt handle, but it's fairly rare it seems. There were also a few 'sniper' versions made, with a special scope base installed - a feller in Spain posted pics over on Gunboards once. I hadn't known they existed til then. A very few made it over here. The bent bolt handle on my FR8 is different than on my M43. Not the same curvature. They aren't 'bubba jobs' - looks original. My M43 (Airforce Model) is currently in a shortened M1908 Brazilian stock. My Spanish Ladies . . .

Big Dog, beautiful Spanish Lady's you have there. Turned down bolt on the FR8 is a first for me, that is rare. I prefer the turned down bolt of the M1916/FR 7 but relize the strength of the large ring Mauser in the FR8 including the pistol grip stock which the M1916/FR7 lacks. FR's are rare at gun shows and it's unusual to find one. Now you've set me on a quest to search the history on this turned down bolt FR 8. You can be a proud Dog!
