| remington/spartan SPR18 Does anyone own or have shot a spartan SPR18 single shot rifle. My local gun shop has them on sale for $245.00? They look like their nice rifles. I think I'm interested in the 30-06. Any help would be appreciated. |

| I have never shot them but have looked at them and read about them on other forums. Others who have looked at them decided on NEF Handi rifles instead. Handi Rifles are well made and accurate and about the same cost or less. Plus, unless you are stuck on a single shot take a look at the Stevens 200 by Savage. They are priced the same as what you quoted and offer more shots and a proven action.

| I own an SPR310 (over/under 12ga shotgun). It's one of the most solid shotguns that I've ever owned. The finish is nice, and it points really great. I've never seen or shot a Spartan (Baikal) rifle, but they have a huge history, and I'm sure they have great rifles. Here is a link about the history of Baikal Firearms: Baikal Firearms |

| I own a Baikal O/U double rifle in .308 and find it to be a pretty nice rifle. I think the spr18 is a pretty kool looking rifle with it's spiral finish barrel and I'd like to own one myself. If they can promise access to rings for it (my double had some Millets that fit it's milled receiver) I'd go for it and be the only kid on the block with one, walnut stock and all. |
