| What kind of info do you need? Personally I would go with a 12. Those 10s with a 3 1/2 inch shell tend to kick a little to much for my liking.

| I would like to know about the 10ga and the gun, i am a poor boy who wants to hunt turkeys. Kick doesn't bother me much I own a 338 rem ultra mag, I like the 10 b/c of the extra lead that goes down range. plz tell me about the 10 ga and the H&R pardner turkey gun

| Well If I'm correct your talking about the single shot pardner. The gun has a few plastic parts but not many. The trigger gard and the butt plate. It will last you many years if you take care of it. Trigger pull is very light. It is a very nice gun over all!

| 10 guage is about the biggest you can get. It will sound and feel like a peice of civil war artillary! Fine for turkey though. It won't be much different from your slug gun the stock will be shaped a little different but they will probubly weigh the same. I believe it comes with only a brass bead front sight which will work. Hope this helps!

| I think the H&R comes drilled and tapped for a scope but what about the 10 ga it's self what can i expect out of it.

| so does this mean that it will be a good turkey gun since it throws more lead at the target, I am new at turkey hunting and am trying to find a good turkey gun for under 300 big ones and the 10 ga. H&R seems to fit the bill

| In max loads the .12ga 3 1/2" and .10ga 3 1/2" both throw 2 1/4oz of shot between 1150and 1200fps..10ga may be harder to find. sam. |

| I can get the ammo but I read that a 10 ga will throw a better pattern with the same weight shot b/c of a bigger hole, and I saw on the net that i can get 3 oz shot shells for the 10 oz

| Senior Member ![]() | Patterning is ultimately important. Hunting within range is up there too. A lot of 12's have overbored barrels, reducing recoil somewhat and improving patterns. 12ga 3.5" "roman candles" are easier to find in stores. A 12 ga will be more versitel in the long run. That all said, 10ga is a good turkey gun. Try several different loads on a turkey vital zone target and see which one puts the most shot in the head/neck area |
