Dad's Gun

Dad bought this about 1953-1956. It's had about 300 rounds through it since. Excellent bor. Machanical looks almost new.

I remember Dad in the prime of his life shooting that gun when I was just a pup. I remember the deafening boom, the empty (which I could claim) popping out the top, dirt flying around the target, and the "pinggggggg" on the eighth shot. It's very accurate, but just an old battle rattle.

Near as I can tell, it was made in 1945.

Yup, family heirloom, not for sale.

It may have some original parts as it has lock bar sights. Pull back op rod and see what is stamped on the barrel

When you finish then hang it next to Pap's gun and tell your children all you know about both so the heritage can be passed down.

Cherish that rascal as it is not only a piece of your family history it is also a part of American and World History. Shot it , treasure it, and always threat it with respect that rifle and thousands of similiar ones like it helped save the worl from despots wanting our lives and freedoms. Keep her safe!
