Pretty much all the other KaBooms were cause by case failures of the ammo. Law enforcement by there ammo in bulk, via bidding wars. Best price gets the order. So they, in my opinion don't always get the best ammo. I didn't see any where they stated the brand of the ammo. Same with the other KaBoom articles recently posted. I only remember in those/that one, that a reload was specified. No brand names were mention that I can remember. The word factory load was used however, but that was about it.
Mooseman, one thing mentioned in the other reported KaBooms (link below and on the right side of the page) was over ramping of the feed ramp.
Is there any way to tell if a feed ramp has been or is over-ramped? Also, could that be a reason for the ammo not seating in the chamber all the way? Or more of a cause of the ammo going off on the way into the chamber? Not necessarily the guns fault but more of a design flaw? Also, Moose, could that also cause a round to not chamber all the way or properly?
The Gun Zone -- Catastrophic Failures
This possible reason for the Kaboom, was posted and read here, on G&G, and now quoted below from the last Glock KaBoom post/thread.
[quote]>>>I've seen photos of similar damage to plastic pistols, which occurred when a bullet gets pushed back into the case, during a jam or when the same round is chambered repeatedly and not fired...like in a LEO pistol. <<<[quote]
Another possible reason posted and read here, on G&G, and now quoted below, from that last Glock KaBoom post/thread and not sure if it's true or not, but I'll copy and paste it here for arguments sake. lol This is what was said there
[quoted]>>> "The same thing can happen if you fire a round with no powder, the primer pushes the bullet into the barrel, then the next charge blows the gun apart".<<<<[quoted]
I'll still keep and continue to shoot mine. I'll just never re-rack/re-chamber, haven't ever really had to anyhow, and never use reloads. lol
