| I know of alot of 22H.P.'s that some Savage collectors down under have. I'm thinking Savage must have sent a large order of the guns to someone in Australia back in the day because about 75% of the 99's that show up in Australia are all 22H.P.'s. Didn't you guys have a real varmint problem back in the early 1900's? That could explain the great amount of the small fast moving cartridge being so popular there back then.
Sure sounds like yours is an 1899H. At least the serial range hits the right area, I'm guessing yours is a T/D model as well? |
