New Service 45 Colt

I recently purchased a revolver from my wife's Uncle that belonged to her grandfather. The markings on the barrel show NEW SERVICE 45 COLT
I have been having trouble locating an approximate date on when this was made due to everything I find shows the serial number of the New Service stopping around 35000 the number on this one is 305839. I am also hoping to find new grips for this revolver. The last pat date on the barrel is July 4th 1905. Any help with info would be appreciated

Send a letter to Colt Manufacturing and they can provide much of the requested information on your pistol; make sure you include the barrel markings and serial number.
The best source of parts is Welcome to Numrich Gun Parts Corp but you may have to keep checking as their inventory is akin to a revolving door.
Your pistol is probably chambered for the .45 Colt (commonly called the .45LC). Value can be in the high hundreds; I've viewed some as high as $2000.
Good luck.
To post pictures I simply copy them and then insert them into the post. It's easier then uploading.
BTW; welcome to G&G.
