| Banned | I looked at the CZ choices quite closely and decided on a Savage. The positives on the CZ Scout, is that it has a good name, and most owners speak highly of the gun. ![]() CZ 452 Scout Bolt Action Rimfire 22 LR - Wal-Mart The negatives are that if you plan to put a scope on it, the barrel has sights on it which will have to be removed (if possible). I prefer a clean barrel. I don't believe the CZ trigger is as good as the Savage AccuTrigger, but I believe it can be upgraded by a gunsmith to be compareable. The AccuTrigger is adjustable without needing a gunsmith. A solid wood stock is not always stable over time, and can warp with changing moisture content. Not sure of your age, but are you aware the Scout is a youth model? I would spend the extra $50 to step up to the Savage Mark II-BV. It has the AccuTrigger, laminated stock, and heavy barrel. ![]() Savage Mark II BV .22 LR Bolt Action Rifle w/ Heavy Barrel & Accutrigger - Wal-Mart Savage Arms AccuTrigger If the price is an issue, Savage has essentially the identical gun with a synthetic stock at a lower price. Synthetic stocks don't look the best but they are more stable than a solid wood. They also have a youth model, and models with sights if you don't plan on a scope. However, I would highly recommend a scope. Bushnell and Simmons make rimfire scopes in the 3-9X range that are very affordable, and will do wonders for your accuracy over open sights. Hope that helps, Ron |

| Member | I've never shot one but have heard nothing but good about them. I have a CZ452 American & can for sure tell you it'll shoot consistently with the best of 22's and it's only aprox $100 more and only about $50 more than the Savage, but now the Savage is a shooter too, but not near the value of the CZ. If'n you can manage a CZ you won't regret it. Mine has dropped every single squirrel that I got a decent shot at! I might miss but it don't!! |

Trader Rating: (0) | i have never seen a bad shooting cz 22. mine has a trigger you can adjust at home with no special tools. it's a 452 varmint. i do a lot of shooting and that 22 has produced the smallest group i have ever printed with any weapon in my life. 0.042 in @ 25 yds. five shots thats not just pretty good.
