| Member | Survival weapon Well after reading all this I have decided to get a survival pack together but what I am missing is a firearm. I was leaning towards the Henry survivalist .22LR. But I thought I shoud ask your opinion since you fellas seem pretty prepared. And this firearm would be used for hunting small game primarly (sp?). For the larger stuff I would used my bow. I would also have a air gun (bb gun) for small game aswell. So if what are your opinions, suggestions, whatever ![]() Thanks guys -304 |

I had one about 15 years ago, made by Charter, I think, that was a p.o.s. Henry has come a long way. | |

| Moderator ![]() | 'Permits' depend on your local/state laws. Here in Florida, NO. We just fill out the Form 4473 and the dealer does the call-in check to placate the Brady Bunch. Henry has much improved the original AR-7 design. A buddy has just gotten one, and really likes it. They make a far better magazine too - the heart of any semi-auto firearm. That was the real weak point of the earlier versions.

| Senior Member | I like the idea of an M-4 or maybe a Kel-Tec PLR-16 in a SHTF survival situation, but in a wilderness survival, I might be argued into using a .22lr. ![]()
