Stock and hand guard marked "RMC"

On my Winchester mix, I finally made out what is marked in the sling cut out. 0-RMC, and the hand guard has "RMC" stamped on the inside about mid way on one edge. It is a high wood stock, the hand guard is darker unfortunalely, but it has the matching RMC. I just saw a complete Rockola on the CMP site and it listed the stock as RMC. So, Does RMC stand for Rockola music corp? ~JAY~

Jay, I'm new to M1 Carbines, and learning about the great little gun. Could the O be a Q? As in Q-RMC? According to the Stock Table of Riesch's 4th Ed., Q-RMC was used by Quality Hardware on Type I,II, & III Carbines.

RMC (Rock-Ola Music Co.) shows being used on Rock-Ola Type I, II, & III.

I'm sure Jim wiil chime in to help out.

It could be a Q in the stock it looks like a O- or 0-.
The arm guard has only RMC.

It is Rock-Ola MANUFACTURING Co. They made many products including furniture. Juke boxes were only one of many products. And the stock is Q-RMC for Quality Hardware manufactured by RMC. And some of the early QHMC carbines used RMC marked stocks as well (without the Q-). The RMC handguard could have come from a Rock-Ola, QHMC, Underwood or even an IBM carbine. They all used RMC handguards at one time or another.
