You can buy a Bushmaster AR-15 M4 version for less than $ 900.00 if you shop around.
I paid $ 875.00 for a new one...A.H

You are still paying too much... by about 300.00 or so, depending on the make. I'd demand a complete refund and buy one after speaking to the rest of us first... so you do not get hosed.

IF you are committed and he will not refund more money, I'd decidedly not buy anything from him again, friend, acquaintance or whatever...

As far as accessories go... that is all in personal taste. I have something similar with an ACOG... so you will need to save a little more to afford it, but they are worth it.

Sadly brother... you got duped.

So basically you're stuck with it? He won't take it back at all now? If not, chalk it up to a lesson learned and you'll know the next time.

As far as what you can do to it with that $491 and change, you need to find out what California will let you do, then go from there. No matter what, you're stuck with 10rd mags. No matter what, no laser sights. Kind of limited living in California.

One thing that $491.75 will get you is a drop in trigger. Say a Timney or Chip McCormick trigger maybe? Not even sure if that is California legal though. Check your local laws first, then worry about what you can add or do.

well its not welded or anything the only thing is the button to release the maghas a small L wrench size to release the mag by pushing the release button.but normaly if i had to reload i would have to take off a screw on the lower part and flip it open to reload

Yep, still too much, buy about 300 bucks if not more I'd say. The Stag Arms I'm looking at lists for $989.00 I believe. So I figure a little below that is what I'll be paying by the time taxes and shipping and or transfer fees and back ground check fees and all that crap are added together.
