any help, please

I recently purchased (traded for) a VERY nice Sako in .270. It says nothing more than Sako / Finland/ and .270. It has a very nice light colored stock, a monte carlo style w/cheekpiece and rounded forend(not blocky like L61s I've seen), just like a pre '64 model 70. it has a 1/4" black spacer and 1/2" rubber pad(absolutely looks original!) A hinged floorplate, front and rear sights, the rear sights are express style with one standing and 1 folding leaf. There is no milled receiver for rings/mounts. It looks exactly like a FN mauser action. the serial # is: 1099xx. Any help in telling me just what type Sako it is would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

With out a model name or number its hard to tell, but sako did make a rifle in 270 cal. with a Mauser Action(FN) Manufactured from 1950 - 1957 if you can find any other markings Ican probly tell you more. the model listed above depending on condition $310 - $500

Thanks Henry. The rifle is just as described, with no model number or nomenclature anywhere. Left side, just forward of thr receiver, on barrel has Sako over the serial #1099xx, just forward of that are 2 very small proof marks. Right side has small proof mark on top face of bolt handle, and "made in Finland" in very small letters just forward of the receiver on the barrel. With a scope installed, it's nearly impossible to even see the caliber stamp as it's on the very top of the barrel forward of receiver and under the scope objective lens; 270. I'm fairly certain it is an original Sako "High-Power Mauser Sporting Rifle", the first full sized action produced by Sako after WWII, from 1950-1957. Thanks again. Value in 90% per my '06 "Gun Dealers"....$1,000. thanks again for your help.

I would love to see a pic of this rifle! It appears I have the same rifle in 7x57 Mauser! I do not have the rife with me, it is stored. One CLEAR pic of the middle 3rd would do!
