I have a .308 savage 10fp, so does billy and i know another guy that does too!

they love theirs, and i love mine. The .308 does have a bit of recoil but its nothing too major. I am 16, 5'10" 130lbs and can take the recoil just fine! Both are fine calibers and the 10FP is an amazing rifle! either way you should be happy. In my opinion id go with the .308, but like mitch said the .223 will do just fine at about 300yards

Edit: what i use in .308 is winchester 150gr super X power points, picked up a box of 20 at walmart for $15. Most major gun stores have ferderal on sale for $14.99 (atleast around here they do)

mitch-what brand of store bought ammo do you use?
