they love theirs, and i love mine. The .308 does have a bit of recoil but its nothing too major. I am 16, 5'10" 130lbs and can take the recoil just fine! Edit: what i use in .308 is winchester 150gr super X power points, picked up a box of 20 at walmart for $15. Most major gun stores have ferderal on sale for $14.99 (atleast around here they do)


mitch-what brand of store bought ammo do you use?
Since I've never intended to hunt with mine, I weghted the `hollow stock down a bit and recoil is not bad at all. Weight is just up to 10.5 lbs with the 20" barrel.

I only use my own loads for the Savage. 168 grain Sierra HPBT at about 2800 fps. Fire formed cases.
