Identifiying a lower reciever

I recently found some componets to a assault weapon and am trying to identify what weapon they came from... the nightvision scope is identical to the one pictured when you look up the m-16 there was also a drum type magazine, some bannana clips marked for military use only and a lower reciever..its the lower reciever I am most intrested in identifying..It has the numbers 489 stamped on the side and has 3 positions on the selector switch S E and F I dont think it is the entire reciever but rather the trigger mechanism portion...how do I figure out what it will fit?

Okay... looks like a 50 round drum for a Thompson, a starlight scope and a trigger group for maybe a H & K...

The only thing you have there that would fit in or on an AR-15 is the starlight scope.

That trigger group... not sure if it is legal for you to have it... looks to be a select fire trigger group. I am not sure about that so someone else more familiar will need to assist.

The drum... I'm about 99% sure is for a Thompson.

I kind of suspected that the drum was a thompson..the rounds in it are marked 321 98 they seem to match up to a 7.62x39

no ... a Thompson .45 caliber like this: www.1927a1.com ... but I could be wrong. Are the rounds in the drum 7.62 x 39 (AK rounds?)

The starlight scope could be worth some good money...

That trigger group is what truly is the wild card ...

The Starlight is CORRECT !

THe Drum is not a Thompson drum...It appears to be an AK 47 Drum...

The SEF Lower is an H&K or CETME Lower....

Is that a select fire lower? I am not all that familiar with that animal...?

The AK-47 50 round drum and the starlight scope could command a pretty penny. Are you willing to sell the starlight?

Yes it is a select fire...
S = Safe
E = Einschutz (1 round per trigger squeeze)
F = Full auto

Then that is not legal to own the way he has it, correct?

It takes more than just that trigger cluster to turn it into a full auto doesn't it?

You can Own the Lower, But you had better Not have the gun with the receiver drilled for the push pins to attach it , and you also need the full auto bolt carrier and bolt for proper functioning...

The trigger group is from a German G-3 by H&K. I have ZERO doubt about it. The drum is a (what appears to be) a chinese manufactured AK drum. The Scope is a first gen. Starlight scope.

Agreed on the Starlight scope... I used them back in 1994 while in Europe.
