You make an excellent point I wish to elaborate on. Basic courtesy... sometimes known as "common courtesy" ... there is nothing basic or common about courtesy anymore.

In some regions of this country... the speed of life is ridiculous... if you were to stop to smell the roses you'd be run over hearing an expletive shouted out the window.

One of the best examples was in the movie "My Blue Heaven" with Steve Martin. He goes to a grocery store and at the third time someone tells him to have a nice day, he turns and shouts, "Hey, F*ck YOU!" Does that pretty much sum it up or what?

I've heard the saying that an armed society is a polite society. That kind of a society sure makes sense...

This is also why I like my one stoplight 2,000 person town in the country. People are commonly courteous and there are not many places where shooting is not allowed... especially if you know the farmers.
