there is an sks D on gunbroker.com for sale. claims to be unshot and still full of cosmoline. as of now the bid is $575. thought id give you guys a heads up, dont find these very often.

That is a pretty neat looking little rifle! Have not been following SKS type rifles until recently so that is the first time I have actually seen a pic of one of those.

The Paratrooper Model used to sell for 150 Bucks !!!!
The one without the Thumbhole stock is the collectable one....
I wouldn't give 250 for a Paratrooper..I had one...

Well the first one is my auction and is a mint condition never been fired Type 84 Norinco SKS-D. The riffle in the second auction is an M model. The difference is barrel length, stock, and actual production numbers. The "D" model, or Type 84 that I am auctioning off, was only produced for less than 1 year. Started in mid 1988 and ended early 1989, falling victim to Regan administration pre ban. Im told that there were only like 5000 or less made. I have several and none of the serial numbers are any higher than 8802799. The 88 is the year of production and the 2799 is the production number.
The M models produced for a much longer amount of time and MANY more of them were made as compared to the Type 84 Pre ban (pre 89)D models. The D model is much more rare and collectable than the M. However im sure one would have just as much fun with an M.

Bulky grip just didnt feel right, barrel was pinned in place, magazines fit sloppily and often failed to feed properly, lots of jams....
trigger was horrible.

wow, im glad your here for us to learn from, so we dont waist/miss-spend our money. id not heard of an sks acting that way befor this. though i dont have any experience with the paratroopers, or the model D.
