Prices DO vary. Plus, sometimes you can find things locally that are about the same or less expensive than ordering through a distributor and then adding in shipping and transfer fees.

One word of caution on transfer dealers. Some try to charge you tax. That is a way for them to make extra money. Plus, transfer fees vary depending on the attitude of the customer. So do your research and go to a transfer dealer you know and trust. Sometimes the cheapest is not the best.
