17 Mach 2 Splitting Cases Hi All, I have a Remington 504 with less than 50 rounds through it and was sighting in last weekend when I noticed that about 50-60% of the cases were splitting. The ammo was regular 17gr hornady ammo. Has anyone experienced this issue or heard of any problems? Thanks in advance!

Try a different brand of ammo. If the problem continues, return the rifle.

I will be trying a different type of ammo this weekend (CCI). The hornady ammo was from two separate batches, but the batch numbers were very close together nonetheless. Already talked to Remington - what a hassle. Even if I do return it they will probably just sleeve it or rebarrel it. If that's the case I might just buy a prechambered Lilja barrel and end up with a better rifle afterwards anyways.
