Yeah great effort, bad luck about the shot. Maybe get him a shotgun and whatever loads suit coyotes- We use SSG's here a bit. Might be easier to hit with at close range. I know many close shots are actually harder than long ones. To wind the scope back to 6x from 14x for me, then think where the bullet is at 50 yards. Most of the time i shoot low at close ranges. But if its 100-300m away I know exactly where the bullet is and whatever im shooting at is in trouble. Kind of makes you look a bit stupid being able to hit long shots but failing miserably on the close ones. Hahaha never mind its the fun of being out there thats the main thing. Bagging a coyote would be a bonus.
