Counterbored barrels are not necessarily a bad thing. But a good bore that is not counterbored is a good thing.

Mosins are fun to look at, fun to look for and rewarding to shoot. They go bang with the best of them and for a lot less. I might also say that they shoot better than a lot of other commercial rifles and the rifle performs with the best of them!
