| Senior Member | Replicas only I believe also. But if you check gunbroker.com, auctionarms.com or gunsinternational.com you might find a few, but they won't be cheap. ![]()

| Senior Member | Occassionally At different times it has come and gone in production by various firms. I am not aware of anyone making them at present. The gun is obviously historically famous yet has a drawback in terms of a complex design coupled with numerous small parts leading to a gun that has often failed in the rough and tumble of combat. It is not what you would want as a protector of your life. The Nazi military recognized this and replaced it with the P-38 before the outbreak of WW2 combat. Anyone wishing to manufacture this gun must consider high per gun manufacturing costs leading to high retail costs. It seems the demand has never been there to keep this gun in continuous production for the private market. I do wish I owned one and do understand it is a gun for which reliable functioning depends on a gun that is extremely clean and properly lubricated. |

| Senior Member | I don't believe the P-38 is currently in production by any manufacturer; but they are available on the market at competitive prices. The last I know of a commercial Walther P-38 being produced was around the 1968 time frame. Mitchell arms had some a while back. |

| Senior Member | I just found a P08 Luger at a local shop for $900.00, not pretty, bore shot out, but all matching numbers. He also has a P38 Walther for $700.00.

| Senior Member | Friend of mine had a Luger, got to shoot it a few times. No other pistol feels so right in the hand and comes up on target with such ease, it was like pointing your finger. Sad that they cost so much and no one makes them anymore. |
