Thanks for your help Paper. I have decided that I will go ahead with the CMP route. Most likely for the Garand AND Carbine. haha. I think they are about to put up some service carbines in April.

Anyone know why the metal on some of the 03A3s, such as mine, tend to take on that Greenish tint?
