Need new Sights for Taurus 1911

Ok so I just bought my first handgun (Taurus PT 1911) about a month ago. I have no problems with this gun at all. I have put about 1000 rounds through it. But I hate the sights. They are the 2 dot sights. Does anyone have any recommendations on any 3 dot sights that would fit this gun? I have looked what seems like everywhere for sights but I cant find any that specify for the Taurus 1911. Anyone??????

First off stitch, welcome to G&G.

Secondly, try here for sights.
Taurus: PT Night Sights MMC Adjustable Sights

Sorry, just noticed they are out of stock. You could email them or call them and ask when they'll be getting them back in stock? Or just google Taurus PT 1911 iron sights and check out what links come up. Also try Taurus itself. They may sell other sights? Good luck,

Is that the one that said from like $9.98 or something? If so, it sounded hinky to me. Keep looking. Call that place I linked and find out when they are getting stock in.

There are so many different sight configurations for the 1911, I am sure you will find exactly what you want. Look at all the 1911 accessories websites. I had some wilson combat sights that were great on my 1911. Good buy with the Taurus, I have heard a lot of great things about them. Post some pics.

Not sure if they'll fit the Taurus version of the 1911 though Beer? I did the search for Taurus PT 1911 and not a lot came up. Hate to see them order something and it not fit the Taurus? Easier to get something that says Taurus on it ya' know.

Although, the first link Beer left stitch, you could call them and ask if any they have would fit the Taurus PT 1911? I took a look and saw nothing that it would fit a Taurus PT 1911. Again, to order one not knowing if it fits or not just means a hassle to send it back and more cost to do same.

In looking at your pictures, I suppose if you have a pair of digital calipers, you can take a measurement of the widest part of the dovetail and look for a replacement rear sight the same size? See if your manual says the size or call Taurus and tell them your model number, not just PT 1911, there should be an actual model number ( I think, lol ) and ask them what size dovetail the rear sight is...

I know www.tooltechgunsights.com will custom fit night sights or other sights to your gun but you have to mail them your slide and they install sights then mail back and they are a little over priced but they are supposed to do good work I know Wilson Combat uses them.

Couldn't you just paint a white dot on the front sight?

Bright Sights High Visibility Gun Sight Paint

Check this web-site out. I've used it and it lasts quite a long time before it needs re-applied.
I used orange on the rear sight and green on the front; but there's a number of combinations. Cheaper than new sights

Stitch, not sure if you're all set with sights, or still looking at this thread.
You could check out this site and see what the guys over there have used. www.taurusarmed.net

Make sure you come back here .

Yes, I did the same thing to a revolver that was nickled, the flat gray sights were hard to pick up and blended with most everything, so I just painted them black. (carefully, so it didn't look bubba'd) A perfect white dot may be a challenge, but I'd give it a shot before replacing the front sight. It'd only cost a few dollars and if you're not happy, you plan on replacing it anyway so what's the harm of trying? Maybe a small stencil of some sort could be rigged. Like maybe a little itty-bitty washer, perhaps?
