As far as it being a Russian capture, I have no clue. You guys would have to say. Yea, #s matching the guy said would be $500-600. But he didn't specify on anything specific. I walked in and saw it and it was still there when I went to the ATM, and fortunately it was still there when I got back, so I got it. And picked up a tin of 7.62x54R while I was there. But, here are the pics. You guys can tell me all about it now. I know its Mauser manufactured. And is the 42 the date? There are some eagle over swastika stamps on it. As for that, the bolt stamp on the handle matches the receiver, but the black housing has a different number stamped on it. I'll have to dissect it later. It was in great shape when I picked it up. The old man I bought it from said his old eyes could see to shoot 2 or 2.5 inch group I think he said at 100, maybe he said 75. So I will see if I can improve on that.

Here are the pics. Should be able to see the #s on it well. I'd like to find a bayo for it. Not that I'd probly need it for anything, but it would be cool to have one. And what does the gg mean in the serial number? There are two things I don't like about it already.....The mag has to be depressed to close the bolt on empty, and the other is the gun can't talk. If it could, I'm sure there would be days and days of history it would tell me. Anyways, any info is appreciated. Out the door for $230. And I tried to get some good pics of the bore. It can be partially seen in the two pics I have up. But that was another reason I thought I had better buy it. It looked sooo good.
