WOW, Marion! That is one of the sweetest looking hurricane lamps I have seen in a long time! Looks like it has oil in it and you still use it some for mood lighting. Ya thinking about selling that lovely svelte lamp?

Lamp ! no , vice yes the vises I use to sell on e bay .. there made of native missouri pine and no finish other than stained light cherry ,,I quit selling them because of the shipping but if you want one and will pay the shipping I will take 25 bucks for it its the last one I will sell ..one I am going to put out in the barn on the bench marion57@netscape .net E mail me
By the way the box to ship them is almost 5 bucks with the packing so add it to the shipping
Box packing and shipping is why i quit selling and making them and I was getting 40 apeice

well to be honest I wasnt planning on makeing any more but I guess I could if there is a intrest ..If anyone wants to make there own I will draw up plans and post them next week ok/
there relativly easy to make
30 inchs long about 5 1/2 wide on the base .. uses a 8 inch wood clamp for a vise and line with felt and only one side moves the other is staked to back board and bottom,, But I will try and make up plan for the board

I can see felt or something on them. Marion, did you ship them assembled? If so, would it be cheaper/more cost effective to sell them as a kit without the wood clamp?

never thought about it steve .. I dont think everyone has a nail gun and a jig to glue them in all seams are glued with gorillia glue and nailed .. as these are all hand made there all a little different in size ..I started out looking for a gun vise but didnt like the plastic ones and the wood ones were so high or cheap made I didnt want one..and they only used one screw .. I use both for better holding.. I sold a couple on e baby and about six on another forum made out of cedar then some made out of pine
(ran out of cedar)I start out with rough cut pine from the saw mill and plane it down when its aged and then work it up

problem is and was the box to ship it was almost 4 bucks and then packing at UPS so got to be to expensive to make anyone a good deal

hmmmm ...I have concented to sell the last two .. If these go and you guys dont think the shipping makes them out of price range i will reconsider makeing them again.. the last one I shipped cost 20 bucks to ship,(19 dollars and change)

I finally picked me up the Tipton Best Gun Vise, on sale @ Midway for the month opf April; But, I'll keep that in mind. What's the going rate, with shipping ( approx. is ok) out of curiosity for one of the guys and what would the turn around time be (again, approx.)?

What I was getting at Marion, is if you cut the pieces, put the felt on, predrilled screw holes, supplied the screws, and an assembly schematic. Then provided a "material/tools required" list (8 in. wood clamp, glue, screwgun, etc.) It seems it would all fit in a fairly small box, and wouldn't be beyond the level of most gun nuts! Heck, you could wrap the whole thing in bubble wrap, tape it, cut boxes from recycled moving boxes, etc. Then slap some shipping labels on it, and away it goes. Pine is light enough, right?

That is a great idea Steve! USPS priority shipping should be fairly cheap at that rate. Flat parcels cost less to ship.

Ok will make this a answer !! the problem with steves idea is this .. the baic Idea is fine but in this instance I dont believe its the answer/If you have ever ordered something and tried to assemble it that is pre cut it never goes together like it should ..I want these to be together solid and well made as far as sturdy is concerned they are glues and nailed not screwed so will never come apart the stationary side is glued and nailed on the bottom and both sides..If I ship them broke down I cant control someones ability to put it together ..If all that makes sense I would rather take less and let the difference go to shipping and at 25 bucks that is what I am doing ..I sold these for 4 0 bucks on e bay plus 15 shipping and i ate 5 bucks worth of shipping on eveyone of them ..so I wiill make and sell them for 25 if there is intrest and what ever the shipping may be .. anything over 20 bucks shipping i will eat on the shipping in lower 48

So if I say 45 bucks shipped then no one should feel like there getting screwed
so its 45 bucks shipped !!!

I have one sold pending funds and will build more as they are ordered,45 dollars shipped in lower 48 ..keep in mind these are not a shooting stand but a working vise..From order to finished product is two days and probably two more to get it boxed and shipped ..I am only going to do this one time for the guys in the forum ..Available thru the month of April then done.Spring is comming and I dont wanna be building gun vises when i can be outside enjoying

spring is shooting time !!!!
