| Registered User | M1 price? I just acquired a Winchester M1 carbine and was wondering if someone could tell me about what it is worth. 1st four digits of serial#1073, the front band is the type 3 with bayonet lug, barrel has an integral gas cylinder assembly, flat bolt, hand guard has two rivets, hammer is dog leg, tube type receiver, push type safety, adjustable rear sight, stock has the "I" oiler aperture. The barrel, recoil plate, trigger group, operating slide are all stamped with a W. The stock is stamped with W.R.A G.H.D, and crossed cannons. The weapon is very clean with very little wear marks. I fired a few rounds out of it and it functioned perfectly. |

| Senior Member | Very hard to give a value with your discription. Does it have a Import mark? Whats the muzzle wear reading. If Import marked I would say $550.00- $600.00 if not Import marked $675.00- $750.00 ? Like I said its hard to give values without seeing the rifle, just my opinion |

| Senior Member | I have to agree with Orlando. We need a lot more info plus pictures. I wouldn't try to estimate a value based on the limited info provided.

| Registered User | Thanks for the response. I will have to find some one with a digital camera and try and send some pictures. I was just curious as to what a carbine is worth and do not intend to get rid of it. My neighbor gave me her late husbands M1 carbine and a 03A3. I tried to pay her for them but she didn't want anything. They didn't have any children and they sort of adopted me. The carbine is in perfect shape as is the 03a3. I have only owned pistols up until now and have no idea about rifles. |
