| Mr. Fixit ![]() | I agree that, for the money, the Savages are one of the best deals going, and most shoot very well. That said, I've owned an SKS that would shoot with any bolt gun I've ever owned and bought a few supposed "tackdrivers" that would've served better as a tent peg. I haven't shot this Mod. 70 @ long distance yet, but it's looking good so far. After all, it put four rds into one hole @ 25 yds in 10-15 mph winds.

| Mr. Fixit ![]() | What's funny is, I was never a big Winchester fan. I liked them O.K., but I've always thought a bit out-of-the-box on guns. I don't like Remingtons at all, although I know they build a fine gun. Maybe I'm just weird???

| Mr. Fixit ![]() | Yep! I've always liked 'em. It's a shame they got away from Bills' original goal of quality and affordability for awhile there. I hated hearing friends talking about their new M-77's shooting like crap after spending more $$$ than the competing guns were selling for. For many years my dream deer rifle was an M-77 in .257 Roberts, but I held off because a buddy bought one that grouped like an open-choke 12 ga. Now I'm Jonesing for a #1 in 7mm WSM.
