Maine Sesquicentennial Frontier Scout

Five years ago I posted an inquiry about finding a Maine Sesquicentennial Frontier Scout 22 issued in 1970. Couldn't find one that was even remotely realistically priced - All were $500 +. Last week I got an email from a guy that had just read my 5 yr old post and he said he had one. Long story short, he lives less than 15 miles from me. We talked on the phone a few minutes and reached a deal that made both of us happy. Even has the original cardboard shipping sleeve.

Very sweet looking little .22. So what did you end up paying? Very nice looking revolver. Will you shoot it or is it pretty much just going to be a safe queen/display revolver?

Didn't pay; we did a swap which I felt gave us both a good deal. These things sold new in 1970 for under 80 bucks! Saw a couple the other day on some auction sites for 600-700 +. Generally they go for around $500.00 + -.

This will definately not be a shooter. Safe queen/display for sure.

That's a nice looking wheelgun!

Raven, what part of Maine are you located at?

(Don't worry, I'm not asking to meet up or anything like that, just curious so I can share local news in the future )

Hi, AH - sorry fvor the very late reply. Nope, the "gold" lobster was part of the original package. After 38 years, trey're missing in many of them you see now.
Luckily, the guy I got it from's dad kept it in his safe so it didn't get lost.
