Mags for Saiga-100 in .308

I just got me a new Saiga-100 in .308 and am trying to find a few more mags to go with it. the factory mags only hold 4rds but I would also like to find a way to modify some high cap ones to work also. I am messing with a m-14mag now to get it to work any ideas?

Better yet, why not just buy a 25 round magazine and call it good?: Surefire Saiga 308 25RD Polymer magazine - $44.99 : Mississippi Auto Arms, Inc

I would but that is for the older style saiga simulair to the shotgun I have and the rifle that Billy has. this is the newer model that I just bought and the mags are different. I tried to get one to fit at the gun show but it will not work with out modification. I would rather leave my gun alone but have no problem cutting and welding on a few mags I did it for my Mac-11 so if i could find something that will fit in the mag well I can probally figure something out.

Ah, right... forgot about that. BRG3 did a great writeup on the Saiga12 forums on the 30.06 version and how it's essentially a 3+1 magazine. If I remember correctly, you're likely going to have to weld a couple mags together to get anything close to "high cap".

I was afraid of that, I am going to try and find something that will fit in the magwell as is with out cutting on the gun. I dont mind messing up a mag but it would suck if I bubbaed up my new russian girl. LOL

Agreed... that's why I said to weld two (or more) mags together (along with the "scissor" spring below the follower) to increase capacity without damaging the gun. You might want to PM BRG3 (BattleRifleG3) to see if he can give any advice on that.

I messed with a m-14 mag last night it fit in the mag well and with a little welding and cutting I could probally make the need attachment points for it. I ll let you know if I can get it to work.

If you really wanted to do some awesome smithing, see if you can get G3 mags to work, since they're dirt-cheap.

Nice thing about the S-100 mags is that it is theoretically possible to make an extension that wraps around the mag with no modifications to the mag. Try taking a G3 mag, cutting the box from it, and bending the metal on the sides to slide onto the bottom of the S-100 mag. Worst case scenario - you blow a $2 mag.

BRG3 I might have to try that. The experiment with the m-14 mag is not going to work the mag-follower tilts when it get to the last few rounds and wont feed. I am going to try and make some mag-follower exstensions but that will drop my capacity buy a few rounds. You never know till you try I guess.

Well the m-14 mag and the G-3 mags did not work.......I am going to try modifing a surefire mag next I played with one at the gun show and it looks like I could get it to work with a little filling on some points.
