Question Arcus 94 (Bulgaria)

Anyone got one of these FN / Browning "High Power" (GP-35) clones? I can get one locally for $250.

Arcus 94
Type: Single Action
Chamber: 9x19mm Luger Weight unloaded: 970 g
Length: 203 mm
Barrel length: 118.5 mm
Capacity: 13 rounds

Arcus 94 features High-Power style, single action trigger with external hammer, manual safety, mounted on the left side of the frame, magazine disconnect safety, and a slide disconnect, that does not allow gun to fire when slide is not closed completely. The frame and the slide of the Arcus pistols are made from the steel, and different finishes are available, as well as polymer or wooden grip panels. Sights ususally are of fixed type, dovetailed into the slide, with three white dots for better target aquisition.

Arcus 94 is a recoil operated, locked breech pistol that use tipping barrel with two lugs that lock into recesses on the underside of the slide. To lock and unlock from the slide, barrel uses a cam under the chamber, that interacts with the frame. The axis of the slide stop is also used as a takedown pin, and when the slide stop is removed, slide, barrel and recoil spring can be removed from the frame.

All Arcus pistols are reported as a comfortable to use, very reliable and durable.

I'm hoping to pick one up some day and use Hi-Power Hi-Caps.

I have one and I think it is a fine firearm. I am going to use it for my CCL gun.
I wasn't to shure till I shot it a few times. I find it pretty accurate and it handles just about any ammo you want to feed it, alltho you might be a little leary of +P loads, I haven't tried any of them. There are plenty of good Hi-Tech rounds around without taking a chance of overloading your gun.
Browning Hi-Power clips and grips (including Crimson Trace Laser Grips) fit it. I haven't been able to find a manuel on it yet, but I am still looking.
Hope this info helps.

I had one back in 94. Sent it back due to the front sight kept falling off. Felt heavier than a standard HP. Other that the front sight problem it shot great. Never bothered with getting another. Bought a FEG instead.

If you can get it for $250, jump on it!! Century Arms imports these, and their new dealer price is over $300--

I had one for a few years. It was an excellent pistol. I shot it very well as did everyone else who shot it, including women.

Mine was the two tone (like shown above), but it had a rubber grip.

I had removed the mag safety and installed a Wolff trigger spring and it made the weapon all that much more better.

I also refinished the slide with black Gun-Kote. The original finish leaves something to be desired.

Since all of my handguns are geared towards CCW I got rid of it. I was able to trade it for a Hungarian AK (I got the better end of that deal).

However, they are (or were) a great deal. I believe I got mine for about $250-275 or so. It came with 2 ten round mags. I bought a couple of Mec-Gar 13 rounders that worked great with it.

My biggest beef with it was finding a good holster for it. It was also slightly bigger/heavier than your standard BHP. I will probably grab a real BHP eventually if I can find a good deal on one.
