Ak vs sks

which is more accurate? I have a yugo underfold and I have never really been attracted to the sks untill now. I guess what I want to know is how much alike and not alike are they.

The SKS is heavier, longer, and typically because its heavier and the barrel is longer, it a tad bit quieter and does kick as much. In general, the SKS is slightly more accurate, but the AK-47 is usually capable of nearly the same accuracy if adjusted properly. The SKS is still really easy to field strip, though not as easy as the AK, and in original configuration, it only has 10rds and must be reloaded by hand or with stripper clips. As a combat rifle, I'd take the AK-47 as its nearly as accurate as the SKS and is easier to carry. It's also just slightly more reliable(the SKS is very reliabable as well). However, not in combat, its all about what you want. I love my SKS most of my rifles. Granted I shoot my friend's AK-47 and don't own one of my own, so if I owned one, it might just be equally a favorite...any way you look at it, the SKS is a good buy. It's cheap and if you get one in good condition and sight it in properly, you should have any trouble dropping a deer at 100 yards or even more if you're a good enough shooter or are using reliable optics. The SKS also has a working bayonet! lol and it looks ubercool! Not much use for it, but it looks good!

I have found the SKS to be a bit more accurate....
