| Senior Member | Mepps will buy them or trade for their lures.It doesn't seem to lucrative though at $20.00 or less per 100.Thats a whole lot of busytails for that kind of money.I do keep a few occasionally for fly tying and although squirrel tail hair isn't my favorite material for tying,I do find that clouser minnows tied from it will work at times.I also use the hair from a squirrels back and sides as dubbing for different types of nymphs such as the hares ear nymph and some others.In my area the length of the hair from a december squirrel hide is about right for dubbing purposes. |
