Serial Numbers

Does anybody have a way to run the serial number on a PA-63 9X18 Makarov to find out when it was made? My serial number is AU09xx. The gun has some stampings in it. I believe these are from being imported into the US. The only other number I can find on it is the number 51 above one of the stampings that looks like a wreath around a bell shaped object. Thanks.

Call your local police department. They can tell you all that stuff. Just give them the make and model of the gun, and the serial number. The results come fast.

Just hope if you call them it doesn't come back as stolen or something. lol Then you got a whole set of other problems maybe to deal with...
