blackhawk grip replacement.

Is there any way to change the actual grip of a ruger blackhawk. I dont mean the panels I mean the lower portion of the frame itself. There are 4 screws that look like they take the lower portion of the frame off but figured I would ask.

Yes, ther are all sorts of grip frames that can be intwerchanged on Blackhawks and Super Blackhawks. Different shapes, sizes and materials. You can install a "birds head" style, Bisley style or others. Also bl;ued, brass or stainless.
If you want the best information available on this, go to RugerForum.com
This is the place for all things Ruger. Very nice people and extremely knowledgeable. Some of the threads are extremely detailed,
Good luck.

Hmm. I havent had the grip off of my Super BH for ages. Not since I changed the grip on it. I removed the factory wood grips and installed a nice molded finger groove Hogue and never looked back. I just looked at my pistol, it has 5 screws that would require removal. I have never heard of changing that for any reason.

Is it the shape or something that you want to change ?

I added this brass frame to my 357 nmbh.

I just picked up a brass sbh frame in the rough. This one requires all the holes to be drilled. It well go on this bad boy.

No knock against Ruger.com, but a better site, IMO, is singleactions.com
You might recognize some of the names of the folks who frequent there: Lee Martin, John Taffin, David Clements...some of the finest Ruger Blackhawk specialists on the planet.
