Thank you for takeing some one new hunting. I learned the hard way, most of what I know about hunting by myself or from reading. My first deer hunt, I had my grand fathers old 12 guage side by side, three slugs, a pocket knife, and a motorcycle to get to the game lands. Things I forgot to take: rope, something to drink, something to eat, and TP. Oh and it was a wonderful day, started with freezeing rain, rained all day. I saw one doe, and it was buck season. After all these years, I can still see that doe, lieing there chewing, only twenty yards away. I can't remember how cold it was, or how tuff it was to get that bike up the slippery mountain road. I can't remember the thirst, or hunger, or even how much I wished I had Tp, when wet leaves were all that available.
Like I said, thank you, for takeing him, it will mean a lot to him, and for the rest of his life.
