| Senior Member | Alot depends on where I'm hunting and the type of hunting I'm doing. I use both pistol and rifle configurations in the TC Encore mostly. My main pistol barrel is a 6.5x57R AI, with a .308 in reserve. Even with a rifle I prefer to hunt as close as I can get, so I use a 7BRM, which is a imp. version of 7-30 waters, and has plenty of power and PBR for my needs. Dave

| Senior Member | Yes turner i will concede that the 275 rigby and the 7x57 are exactly the same and what a great little round it is, to bad it does not get the respect that it deserves. JUst my opinion. steve

| Senior Member | Yep we can use muzleloaders and we can have scopes on them. However muzleloaders with electronic primes are not allowed. Kinda of dumb if you ask me.

So in iowa durning the shotgun season, which also allows the use of handguns and muzzleloaders, most people hunt in groups of 5 or more hunters. one or two push a timber area while the others post and the posters get most of the shots. It is by far the most dangerouse and deadly season for hunter safety in the state. Add to that the idiots that are running deer from section to section with pickups and driving like mad to get ahead of running deer and deer hunting in Iowa gets kind of a bad rep. Now they have for the last two or threee years allowed hunting with rifles in the bottom part of the state but only for a special late season antlerless only season to help bring the deer population in that part of the state back in line. Perhaps over time things will change but to allow rifle hunting in the state you would almost have to change the culture of deer hunting in our state. I am for using rifles for deer hunting but I don't know if the same kind of hunting would be more or less with rifles, I think I would be a little more worried. I guess I would be okay with it if it was restricted to single shots and bolt guns, I don't know I am not an expert I guess.
