I got a Good deal at the gun show today

I went to the gun show in Sharonville Ohio today. I saw a guy walking with a Norinco sks with no bayonet. All the ones I had seen had $275 or more on them. So I asked him and he said $190.00 with 2 30 round mags. Hey he had my attention. I looked at the mags and they were the plastic Zytel mags. I knew then and there they jammed on him. I said does the gun jam? He paused and said I don't know I've never shot it(I've never heard that one before) I bought it and took it home. I started tearing it down to clean and from the looks of it, it had never had the cosmoline taken out of it. The soot from the ammo mixed with the cosmoline was so thick theres no way that gun cycled. A lot of Hopps #9 and a whole can of Gun scrubber later. I have a super nice sks at a good price.

Hey congrats on that shooter Pontiacdm. I was just looking at my SKS's and the Norinco I paid $75 for and the Russian with the fiberforce stock I paid $100. for. Prices have sure gone up in the last 7 years. Was thinking I havent shot em in quite a while. Now you got me wanting to go out and fire em up.

Haha, I know there is a Lima Ohio because of Kurt Vonnegut, otherwise I would have asked if you were in Peru!

i lucked out an found a pre-ban norinco at a yardsale , it still had cosmoline inside and a bright shiny bore , paid 175 for it - if only we could find em like that at "reputable" gun shops huh?

I will take the yard sale guns all day long if I can find them! My Yugo was a "yard sale" gun and I paid 100 bucks for it!

Yep, I'm getting stoked in anticipation of warmer weather! Cruising the yard sales is right up my alley!
