Michigan Militia Field Day 2008

Hey! Just wondering if anyone is going to the Michigan Militia Field Day 2008 thing on April 12. Never been there before, but it looks fun. They even have TWO .50 Cal Rifles!

I thought they disbanded a couple of years ago? Or was it just that the leader quit?

Not sure. I just found out about the Michigan Militia a couple weeks ago when I saw them featured in 'Bowling for Columbine.' But rumor has it they want to overthrow the government and are being observed by the FBI.

Is that the same Militia Michael Moore interviewed for his anti-gun movies?

I don't either. Was channel flipping and it happened to be on. I can't stand the man myself, but was curious what kind of propaganda garbage he was spewing. Nothing he said made a difference, to me anyhow. He's as one sided as the media with his issues. I just remember in the one he did about guns, forget the title, he interviewed a Michigan Militia group and I was curious as to if anyone knew if this is/was one in the same? Of course, he also interviewed Terry Nichols brother.

The really irritating part is that Michael Moore is a member of the NRA in good standing - although why he hasn't had his membership revoked after Bowling for Columbine mystifies me. He has the First Amendment right to say what he wants; but he does seem to be mocking an organization he belongs to in the movie you reference, Golckmeister, Bowling for Columbine. I have watched it through once, in order to be able to comment on it. He has a left slant to it, but not excessively so. The one bit that roused me to fury when I watched it was his ambushing the late Charlton Heston in his own home with his left-wing crap. Ten years earlier, I'd have enjoyed Heston verbally demolishing that sad sack Moore; but Moore met with Heston a year after it had been announced he had Alzheimer's. There was more than a little sense of shooting fish in a barrel about Moore's 'interview.'
