The first one is designed & built for a double-stack magazine. The second one is not. You can tell by the dimple just above the magazine well on either side of the receiver. The second one probably has been modified to accomodate a double-stack. The performance is the same, but the magazine will be shaky and loose on that second one. I would go with the first one. It looks to be the original imported version. The second one was a milled receiver sent to an American re-manufacturer. They modified it, assemble it with american parts and ship it out to the shelves.

Based on looks alone, I'd go with the 2nd one. I like the flash hider and the location of the front sight.

here is what they have to say about ther guns. THE FIRST ONE: This Custom Black Widow AK47 features a collapsible 6-position butt stock and forearm made of lighweight and extremely durable synthetic polymer. The collapsible stock allows the user to adjust the length of pull from 10.5 inches to 14.5 inches. The design is sleek, elegant, and very lightweight- creating a simply beautiful rifle. It is chambered in the standard AK47 7.62x39mm caliber. The brand new American made receiver is made from Ordnance Grade 4130 steel. It is fully heat treated to 40 on the Rockwell "C" Scale for maximum strength and durability. The receiver is a TRUE double stack hi-capacity receiver with the correct "dimples" that securely hold magazines and drums for proper feed and function. Key receiver rivets are heat-set for added strength. This rifle features our trademark custom hot blued finish and a smooth trigger. The original military chrome lined barrel has the original bayonet lug and threaded slant muzzle break. The custom hot bluing, smooth trigger, and superior design set this rifle apart from other run of the mill AK's. Rifle comes with one 30rd US made polymer magazine. THE SECOND: New Romanian RL1413N 7.62x39 Rifle with Side Folding stock. Features a 12" barrel with 4" muzzle break permanently attached, receiver scope rail, and US Synthetic side folding stock. Includes 2-30rd magazines. |

I would probably take the top one just because it'll be more accurate and have more power.

they are both good deals, Im partial to the side folder stock. A buddy of mine has a colapsable stock like the first one, and it has a harmonic slap. meaning if you like to rest your cheek on the but stock when you fire it will feel like the gun slaps you in the face. Which can be fixed with a cheek pad, but I still like the side folder. Either way both guns are decent deals. Here in Denver CO you cant touch either rifles for less than 500. Also the bottom was made to take the high capacity mags also.

I'd pick the first one. There's one almost identical to it (solid polymer stock) on Classic Arms Inc. for $399 and you can buy an AR stock from them for another $49.95, so you don't even add in shipping and you're already over the cost of the first one. The second one is neat because it's "technically" a short-barreled rifle that's been changed into a legal-length rifle by welding the long flash hider on it. Though, I would personally prefer the longer sight picture to be more accurate with the sights that you get with the first one.

check out GunsAmerica - Connecting Gun Buyers to Gun Sellers Since 1997 There are a lot of good deals for various AK's (among others) on there.

If you have an AK, do you have to wear a turban when you shoot it?
