| Senior Member | Front Stuffer scope? I have a Traditions inline .50 caliber muzzleloader. I would really like to get a scope for it. It is already drilled and tapped for mounts. However it needs high or see though mounts because it is difficult to put the primer in otherwise. ![]()

| Senior Member | do you have a primer tool? i have a cva inline muzzle loader and it came with a tool that holds the 209 primer and easily puts it in or out, my scope is just mounted regularly. Maybe look for one of these tools if you don't have one. I didn't find mine til about a year after i had it and it made a huge difference (it used to be a b*%# to get the primers in and out) |

| Senior Member | Yes it sure does, thats what i used to do too lol the tool i have came with my gun, one end is for putting primers in and one for taking out it works brilliantly and its very simple. Tradtions 209 De - Priming Tool, Black Powder, Traditions at Sportsman's Guide looks like this but the other end of mine holds them too not sure if this one does, its not cutout like the removal end so i can't tell 35737 - 209 Primer Adapter, Incl. Capper & Extractor - Manufactured by: CVA hmm maybe it is cut out this looks like mine i think...haven't looked in awhile lol Last edited by sell33; 04-09-2008 at 02:16 PM. | Senior Member | I don.t know anythng about the traditions platform, but I do know I chose a good scope for my Encore muzzeloader. I'm 46, and don't see as well as I once did. I needed a scope with a focus. I chose the Leupold 4.5x14x40 VXIII 30mm Varminter Retical. To have a scope that has focus, it will have either a 3-12 mag, or 4-16 power. The Varminter Retical has bullet drop horizontal hash marks for holdover. I'm still new to the scope so I haven't tried the retical beyond 25 yrd. It looks like it will work well. Good luck. Just remember, Choose a scope that has a low enough power setting to work well for your area, and average hunting conditions. I'm in michigan and the woods are thick. I find the 4.5 power good for my 25yd, back yard range. And I have up to 14 power for the long shots.
