Question Remington Woodsmaster 74x? Please help Identify

Help please... I'm trying to figure out what my dad's old 30-06 was, I'm positive it was a remington, and either a 740 or 742. I can not find any pictures of one like it anywhere on the internet so I'm hoping someone here has one and would be kind enough to post the pictures and let me know for sure what Model I'm looking for. His had the bear engraving on one side and a big buck on the other side. I was supposed to inherit my dad's but my sister stole it, so now I have to try to find one like it, if you happen to have one, please either post a pic or send me one, I would really appreciate it.
thanks in advance,
Leo

I have looked every where i can and so far have not found anything.
I'm actually suprised at the lack of information that Remington has
on them. I own a 742 1816 to 1966 Anniversary special and I've never
seen another one of them either. If I can find the pictures of that one I will post them

As I remember remington had a buy back program for the 742 woodmaster in 30-06.They had problems with jamming. This has been probably 15 years ago.I think it was a case of either you had a good one or a bad one.

It's a shame that Remington doesn't have really any info or pictures of any of the models on their website, and they made them! I was supposed to inherit my dad's 742 with the Engravings that I'm trying to figure out what
exact model so I can try to find one to purchase since my sister stole the guns within minutes of my dad's passing, litterally he was still lying there and her and her husband ransacked the house to take my guns. I'll never talk to her again...

Did she sell that gun or does she still have it.

I remember hearing something about the buy back program but at the time I did not own one. I own a 7400 shoot it, hunt with it and never had a problem with it.

As far as I know she still has it, I'm in the process of taking her to Probate
Court, but who knows how that will go. She didn't think I'd fight, Obviously she doesn't understand how much us guys value our Guns!
I'd obviously rather have his old gun, but if not, I'll find one. Like they
say, you can't pick family...

The 742 150th year anniversary gun you have is worth about 300.00
There are several Premier Grades so more info is needed to accurately price one of them...Condition is Foremost !
