Did you break in the barell? Make sure the action is fitting tight in the stock (use some inletting ink if you have some). I have a stevens mdl 200 in .270 cal , and I had the same problem with mine griouping badly when I was doing the break in. After the break in i took it home and noticed the stock was touching the barell and the action was alittle loose in the synthetic stock. After alittle hand lapping of the barell, some fitting and sanding of the stock, it will now put groups downrange that can be about covered with a dime.
